Sustaining YMCA Camp Ernst

Kids belong at Camp

We know the effects of a positive camp experience are lasting and life-changing. For the last 90 years, campers have been able to attend Camp Ernst to grow in self and friendship. We plan on being here for you for the next 90 years and beyond.

COVID-19

Only one time in our history has summer camp offerings been cancelled at Camp Ernst and that was in response to the polio epidemic. While we are hopeful to offer a partial summer of camp this year, the safety and health of our campers and staff are the highest priority. At the time of this posting, we know weeks 1 and 2 are cancelled and the remaining weeks remain unclear.

Commitment to you

What is unchaging is our commitment to build strong kids through Camp. We have been offering virtual experiences to help keep kids connected as we navigate COVID-19 together. We know kids need a place to thrive and grow while connecting with their peers. As the full picture of summer comes into view, we are hopeful for a brighter tomorrow.

We are still here

Even when campers are not in our cabins, we are still here. With more than 360 acres to care for, a stable full of horses, and more than 50 buildings on site that need maintained, we are here year-round preparing for summer and family camps. Camp Ernst depends on camper fees and donations to operate. We anticipate some families will choose to keep campers home this year for their own health reasons. We know we have had to cancel weeks 1 and 2 so far. The financial implications of limited summer offerings will be felt deeply at Camp.

You can help
